At Henry Holt Publishers, we take pride in helping authors bring their words to life. We understand that publishing is both a creative and financial investment, and we aim to be as fair and transparent as possible in everything we do—including how we handle refunds.
This policy outlines when and how refunds may apply, and how we work with clients to resolve any issues that may arise.
1. Our Commitment
We strive to deliver the services promised, on time and to a professional standard. If something doesn’t go as expected, we want to hear from you and make it right—whenever possible.
2. When Refunds Are Applicable
While most of our services are custom-built and often involve upfront work, there are situations where a refund may be issued. You may be eligible for a full or partial refund if:
No Work Has Been Started: If you change your mind within 3 business days of placing your order, and no work has begun.
Failure to Deliver Services: If we’re unable to deliver a service as described in your agreement with us, and we’ve exhausted reasonable efforts to resolve it.
Duplicate Charges: If you were accidentally billed twice for the same service.
3. When Refunds Are Not Applicable
Because many of our services involve creative labor, digital work, and coordination with third parties, some purchases are non-refundable, including:
Services that have already been completed or partially delivered (e.g., editing, formatting, design, publishing consultations).
Fees paid to third parties (such as printing, ISBN registration, or distribution platforms).
Digital deliverables or products once they’ve been accessed or sent.
Any work that has already been approved by the client during the process.
4. How to Request a Refund
If you believe you’re eligible for a refund, please reach out to us directly. We ask that you send an email to info@henryholtpublishers.com within 7 days of the issue, including:
Your full name
Order or invoice number
A brief summary of the situation
We’ll review your request and respond within 5 business days with a resolution or next steps.
5. Disputes and Communication
We believe in open communication. If there’s ever a concern, we encourage you to talk to us before turning to your bank or card provider. Most issues can be resolved quickly and fairly just by reaching out.
Unwarranted chargebacks or payment disputes may result in the suspension of current or future services.
6. In Compliance with Microsoft Bing Advertising Policies
We maintain full compliance with Microsoft Bing’s advertising policies. That means no misleading claims, no vague pricing, and no fine print designed to trick you. Everything we offer is clearly outlined in your service agreement and on our website.
If anything we’ve said or advertised feels unclear, we want to know—transparency is part of our core values.
